There is also a tradition of decorating the Raksha Bandhan Thali with different types of flowers and Swastika in the middle of the Thali. A small statue of lord Ganesha is kept in the Rakhi Thali along with Diya, Roli, rice, water and Dhoop stand. A few pieces of sweets are also kept in the Rakhi Thali. Betel leaves and betel nuts are considered auspicious in the Hindu mythology, therefore, form an important part of the Raksha Bandhan Puja Thali. Sometimes, the Rakhi Thali is also decorated with a yellow or red cotton Bandhani cloth and Gota ( Golden lace) or Moli.
